About RAD Hardwoods

Rad Hardwoods was founded by Rob Altman and Doug Seeger —lifelong craftsmen whose passion for woodworking and building spans more than three decades. With roots going back to the early 1990s, both Doug and Rob have dedicated their careers to working with fine materials, mastering their craft, and creating one-of-a-kind pieces through Robert Altman Design and Douglas Wesley Furniture, along with years of hands-on fabrication and custom furniture building.

What began as a deep personal appreciation for exceptional wood has grown into a shared mission: to provide makers and builders with the same high-quality materials that have shaped their own careers.

Established in late 2025 as an extension of Robert Altman Design and Douglas Wesley Furniture, Rad Hardwoods was created to bring that lifelong experience directly to fellow craftsmen and creators. Rad Hardwoods supplies hand-selected hardwood slabs, dimensional lumber, and highly figured specialty woods for a wide range of projects. From dining tables and heirloom furniture to charcuterie boards, custom millwork, and architectural installations, every board we offer is chosen with care, experience, and an eye for what makes a piece truly special.

We proudly serve woodworkers, makers, carpenters, designers, architects, fabrication shops, and anyone who values working with beautiful, high-quality materials.
